Five Trimble applications are digitalising communication for logistics services provider Schnellecke Transport
Schnellecke Transport AG & Co. KG from Wolfsburg sets a thousand journeys in motion every day with its pan-European transportation service. With order quantities like this, analogue communication does not guarantee a good enough overview and this in turn reduces efficiency in process planning. To implement digitalisation, Trimble has customised a complete telematics solution with five software applications for the transport services provider.

Mobile and On-board Units
Schnellecke wanted to equip 120 of its own vehicles and 210 subcontractor vehicles with one consistent telematics system. To achieve this, Trimble provided the on-board unit Truck4U for the Schnellecke vehicles and the mobile unit FleetXPS for the other vehicles. “The same software runs on both on-board computers so we have standardised communication with the drivers,” says Beck.

Track and Trace in Real Time
Previously, dispatchers requested vehicle and consignment data and order status updates from drivers by telephone. With the help of the planning tool FleetCockpit, each consignment is automatically mapped in detail and the information is saved in the Schnellecke logistics software via an interface solution.

Administrative Efforts Reduced
Trimble also implemented FleetHours for digital salary and expenses calculations. Instead of drivers filling in manual forms, the on-board computer takes the necessary data directly from digital tachographs and from the FMS-CAN-Bus. “This improves staff performance,” says Beck.
