Contract logistics company GREIWING once more opts for Trimble’s CarCube
Contract logistics services provider GREIWING is equipping 200 vehicles with the latest-generation version of the CarCube on board computer. By this move, the international bulk specialist reiterates its faith in the integrated solution from Trimble Transport & Logistics as a fleet management tool. GREIWING has been using the total package solution since 2008, now the more advanced developments such as truck navigation and remote readouts of driver card and mass storage media are to be added as well. Trimble, which has its German headquarters in Münster, will present its telematics solutions at LogiMAT 2013 in Stuttgart from 19 to 21 February at Stand 365/Hall 5.
“The introduction of the CarCube enabled us to reduce our fuel costs considerably and optimise our scheduling. The CarCube has grown with our requirements since then,” says Klaus Beckonert, Managing Director of GREIWING logistics for you GmbH. The company covers large parts of the value chain for transport companies operating in the chemicals and food industries. According to Beckonert, this work depends on a high-performance IT infrastructure for complex procedures such as order processing, documentation and expenses accounting.
This includes connecting the CarCubes to the special SAP module best4log-x, significantly co-developed by GREIWING, so that all operating processes can be mapped seamlessly and transparently in the scheduling function. “Our paperless order management not only simplifies our work, but enables customers to view the status of their orders at any time,” says Beckonert.
This contract means that Trimble is starting the year with two large orders. The company recently announced that southern German transporter Schwarz had also taken the decision to install 200 on board computers. The General Manager of Trimble Germany, Carsten Holtrup, sees this new deal as evidence that bulk logistics companies have the wind in their sails for 2013: “At the upcoming LogiMAT 2013, we aim to generate a surge of growth for the whole year. This order shows that the logistics industry is still prepared to invest in competitive IT”.
All the company’s solutions for efficient transport management will be on display at the upcoming LogiMAT 2013 in Stuttgart between 19 and 21 February at Stand 365/Hall 5. Carsten Holtrup will be available for in-depth discussions at all times.
