The Rheine-based Steinkühler group is equipping its fleet with the Trimble® CarCube telematics solution, representing a total of 300 on-board computers. Since March of this year, the company has been progressively rolling out the CarCube solution to its entire fleet. In future, the FleetXPS Application mobile telematics solution will also allow the integration of subcontractor data. The Steinkühler group’s goal is to further optimise its logistics processes, streamline information flows between drivers and planners and improve its quality management.
The desire to improve the efficiency of its transport activities prompted Dalhuisen Transport to implement the Trimble® CarCube onboard computers as well as TrimFuel. Dalhuisen sells and distributes fuels and lubricants. It is the first company in the Netherlands where the exact fuel meter data are communicated to the back-office in real-time through the CarCube on-board computers. "The current delivered litres are automatically displayed in our planning program. This allows us to continue improving our accuracy, smart planning and service to our customers," says Jochanan Vreekamp, purchasing and logistics manager.
TALKE Group is going for the latest in telematics solutions: beginning immediately, the chemicals logistics specialist will be installing Trimble's innovative CarCube telematics system in its own trucks and those of integrated subcontractors. The standardised solution will enable further process improvements and offers many benefits for both office staff and drivers. Drivers were actively involved in the selection process for the new system.
Trimble introduced today Truck4U and FleetXPS solutions. Truck4U focuses on real-time fleet management and FleetXPS on the collection and processing of current logistical information. Both solutions can be deployed stand-alone or in combination. In addition, the solutions can be used within one organization or shared with multiple cooperating parties such transport subcontractors or logistic service providers. "With Truck4U and FleetXPS, we offer a modular and compatible state-of-the-art solutions that transport and logistics service providers can fully tailor to their specific needs in terms of real-time information," said Michel van Maercke, general manager EMEA at Trimble Transport & Logistics. Trimble will be showcasing the solutions in Belgium at the ITT-event in Ghent on Wednesday 25 June.
Thomassen Transport in Loenen, the Netherlands, has fitted its entire fleet with the Trimble® CarCube on-board computers and LogicWay software for driver wage calculation . With more than 100 employees, 90 trucks and 180 trailers, the company specializes in the transport and logistics services for multinationals and smaller companies in the paper, food and construction markets across Western Europe.
Trimble will be showcasing new FleetCockpit and CarCube telematics solution features for the Transport & Logistics market at LogiMAT 2014 in Stuttgart from 25 and 27 February. “Our core task is to provide solutions that optimise transport and logistics operations. With the new FleetCockpit back-office software and CarCube functions, we supply logistics service providers with efficient tools in order to reach their destinations with even greater ease and efficiency,” said Carsten Holtrup, vice president of sales for Trimble’s Transport & Logistics Division in Germany.

Trimble will be showcasing its solutions for the Transport & Logistics market at the 7th Swiss Commercial Vehicle Trade Fair in Berne from 7-10 November.

D. J. Middelkoop Nieuw-Vennep decided to purchase the Trimble Transport & Logistics CarCube after a short pilot phase. Close on fifty on-board computers have now been installed and integrated with the company's TMS (Transport Management System). Arjan de Boer, IT and Operations Manager, says: "We were looking for a reliable solution. Now we've gone live, we have seamless data exchange in Nieuw-Vennep between the Centric TMS and the CarCube".
