Group-GTS, a provider for container transport, tautliner transport and warehouse services in the EU with focus on Benelux, Germany and France, has now equipped its entire fleet with CarCube on-board computers from Trimble. The GTS trucks have been equipped with the CarCube computers for quite some time already, and after the integration of TDS – which now becomes Group-GTS together with GTS – the company chose Trimble's board computer to become the standard telematics solution for the combined group. According to the management, the ability to fully leverage the synergies and economies of scale would be beneficial. Two months after the installation of the CarCube on-board computers in the 76 TDS vehicles, the first results were successful. In addition, Group-GTS also invested in the Driver Performance Portal from Trimble, for even more efficiency.
Without data, there can be no information. And without information, there can be no analyses. A continuous overview of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is crucial in the transport sector. To address this need, Trimble Transport & Logistics will be unveiling some new telematics features at LogiMAT 2015, from 10 to 12 February. Highlights include a Realtime Status Board, designed to provide companies with a continuous overview of all operational KPIs, and allowing them to take immediate corrective action in response to any issues flagged up. There is also a Driver Performance Portal, a Web-based analysis tool for detailed information on driving styles and driving behaviour. You can visit Trimble at the LogiMAT trade fair in Hall 7 on Stand 7C65.

In order to raise the efficiency of its fleet to an ever higher level, the transport company invested in Trimble’s Realtime Status Board for its transport and logistics activities. On a big screen in the middle of the planning department, the major parameters that are of importance to Farm Trans are at a glance. "We have already automated a variety of our activities, but we were still in need of a better insight into the current state of our fleet. With the Realtime Status Board, the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are permanently monitored. This allows us to improve our reaction time," explains Theo Bos, Director of Farm Trans.
Peter Appel Transport will be equipping its entire fleet of 580 trucks with the latest version of the Trimble® CarCube. With the on-board computers, remote tachograph download is now available to the food distribution specialist. A major reason for the investment was the acquisition of industry-sector partner G. Vlug & Zn earlier this year. As a result, the Peter Appel Transport fleet has added 180 trucks to its fleet, which were not equipped with the CarCube computers.
