Trimble Showcases New Telematics Solutions Features at LogiMAT 2014
Trimble will be showcasing new FleetCockpit and CarCube telematics solution features for the Transport & Logistics market at LogiMAT 2014 in Stuttgart from 25 and 27 February. “Our core task is to provide solutions that optimise transport and logistics operations. With the new FleetCockpit back-office software and CarCube functions, we supply logistics service providers with efficient tools in order to reach their destinations with even greater ease and efficiency,” said Carsten Holtrup, vice president of sales for Trimble’s Transport & Logistics Division in Germany.
New Features in FleetCockpit Dispatch Software
Trimble’s FleetCockpit is back-office software that provides planning capabilities for dispatchers. The new planning tool features in FleetCockpit can help to improve the work of the dispatchers—routes can now be defined precisely by setting via points and with the aid of the corridor function. If there is a discrepancy in the prescribed route the telematics system will notify the driver and the dispatcher immediately. Consequently the entire route can be graphically displayed and the number of kilometres calculated. “With these new features, we enable dispatchers to achieve higher planning reliability and transparent costs overview,” said Holtrup.*
New Enhancements for the CarCube On-board Computer
The Trimble CarCube is a full function on-board computer with a touch screen for task processing, navigation and responsible eco-driving.On CarCube the driver can now see the current traffic reports (TMC), while the system simultaneously ascertains the delay and time lost due to traffic. This data is displayed to the driver and dispatcher in real time. Routes which are not suitable for HGVs can be blocked by the driver independently using CarCube. In addition, by using the road snapping (estimation via GPS positioning) feature, it is now possible to display an entire distance travelled.
Trimble will present the telematics solution in its entirety in Stuttgart between 25 and 27 February in Hall 5 / Stand 365. Background briefings can be arranged during the trade fair.
