Discover what Trimble Transport & Logistics can do for you: the user-friendly on-board computer CarCube, the driving style assistant, FMS-Reporting and truck navigation can help you generate great savings.
Trimble will be showcasing its solutions for the Transport & Logistics market at the 7th Swiss Commercial Vehicle Trade Fair in Berne from 7-10 November.
The CarCube bundles applications for transport companies in a single on-board computer, integrated with powerful back-office applications for planners, administration and management. With its modular, scalable architecture, the solution can grow with the changing needs of businesses. The CarCube offers an efficient tool to help drivers adopt and maintain an ecologically responsible driving style: the Driving Style Assistant to support the driver in real-time in conjunction with the Fleet Management System (FMS) reporting for a quick and effective driving style analysis back at the office.
In addition, the CarCube on-board computer can also be connected to a temperature monitoring system used for refrigerated shipments. Refrigeration sensors measure the temperature inside the trailer and send this data both to the driver and the dispatcher via interfaces. This means it is possible to continuously monitor maintenance of cold chain integrity. "This is a major advantage – especially for food and pharmaceutical shipments – and can enhance shipment safety," said Carsten Holtrup, vice president of sales for Trimble’s Transport & Logistics Division in Germany.
Trimble will also be launching two new features of its FleetCockpit back-office software, which extend the planning possibilities for dispatchers. The 'Trips' application enables the dispatcher to compile journey assignments and specify a route using via-points. The 'Corridoring' function indicates what route a shipment should follow and alerts both driver and dispatcher in the event of deviations.
With the FleetXps for Android app, Trimble will also showcase a mobile telematics solution that allows transport agents to seamlessly integrate subcontractors into their fleet management capabilities. This smartphone app supplements the CarCube on-board computer, providing key telematics data without the need to equip trucks with permanently mounted devices.
Trimble’s Transport & Logistics solutions can be seen in Berne from 7-10 November in Hall 1.1 / Stand A012. Background briefings can be arranged at any time during the trade fair.
