Focus on transport data: Trimble prepares to unveil new telematics features at LogiMAT 2015
• A Realtime Status Board showing an overview of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Efficient analyses to increase ROI
• A Driver Performance Portal for complete control over costs
Without data, there can be no information. And without information, there can be no analyses. A continuous overview of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is crucial in the transport sector. To address this need, Trimble Transport & Logistics will be unveiling some new telematics features at LogiMAT 2015, from 10 to 12 February. Highlights include a Realtime Status Board, designed to provide companies with a continuous overview of all operational KPIs, and allowing them to take immediate corrective action in response to any issues flagged up. There is also a Driver Performance Portal, a Web-based analysis tool for detailed information on driving styles and driving behaviour. You can visit Trimble at the LogiMAT trade fair in Hall 7 on Stand 7C65.
Carsten Holtrup, Vice President Sales Europe at Trimble Transport & Logistics, explains the benefits: "KPIs give organisations information on the progress and performance of their processes. Our features help transport operators to continuously optimise their ROI thanks to a constant overview of these KPIs." As illustrated by the Netherlands-based company Farmtrans, which has reduced the time spent by its lorries at customer premises by around 20% thanks to the Realtime Status Board.
The Realtime Status Board displays all the main KPIs reflecting the operational status of transport processes. "The huge volumes of data to be processed make it difficult for planners to retain an overview. Our Realtime Status Board flags up any events requiring immediate attention," explains Mr Holtrup. The information fed back by the default version includes lorry waiting times, average kilometre performance, average speed and warning messages. The KPIs measured can also be tailored to customers' individual processes.
The Driver Performance Portal is a user-friendly Web-based analysis platform which allows customers to specify a range of evaluation criteria for different areas. From no-load runs to braking, steering times, speed or use of telematics - the platform forwards regular updates in the form of PDF files to drivers, driving trainers and management. "The Driver Performance Portal gives customers complete control over all their costs and allows them to work with their drivers to identify potential areas for improvement," comments Mr Holtrup.
In addition to these features, the telematics provider will also be presenting its new hardware concept. Available in DIN format, the Truck4U on-board unit is designed to enable companies to carry out real-time fleet management. The FleetXPS is a robust, mobile on-board computer which includes an integrated high-quality bar code scanner and a camera.
Trimble will be exhibiting at LogiMAT 2015 in Hall 7 on stand 7C65. The company will be available for more detailed discussions at any time during the trade fair.
